It is generally acceptable to change a job title on a resume, but it should be done in a way that accurately reflects the responsibilities and accomplishments of the position you held. If you were promoted or held a different title than what is listed on the job posting or company website, it is appropriate to use the title you held on your resume. However, if you changed the title to something that is not an accurate representation of the position you held, it can be misleading and may be viewed as dishonesty.

It is important to keep in mind that when you're applying for a job, your resume should always reflect your true work experience.

Here's an example of a resume experience section with a changed job title

Work Experience
Product Manager
ABC Corporation
San Francisco, CA
Managed the development and launch of a new product line, resulting in a 25% increase in revenue
  • Developed and maintained product roadmaps, budgets, and schedules
  • Conducted market research and identified customer needs
  • Led a cross-functional team of engineers, designers, and marketers
Product Development Manager
ABC Corporation
San Francisco, CA
Oversaw the development of a new product line, resulting in a 25% increase in revenue
  • Developed and maintained product roadmaps, budgets, and schedules
  • Conducted market research and identified customer needs
  • Led a cross-functional team of engineers, designers, and marketers
RIGHT

As you can see, in the first item, the job title listed is "Product Manager", while the second one is "Product Development Manager" which reflect the responsibilities of the position held. Also to notice that in both experience items, the company name is "ABC Corporation" which reflect the workplace and location are the same. The time duration also accurate and not overlapping.

It's worth noting that it's important to keep the information on your resume accurate and consistent.
